Los Angeles, the City of Angels,
has a long history. Founded in 1781 and named El Pueblo de Nuestra
Señora la Reina de Los Angeles de Porcincula (The Village
of Our Lady, the Queen of the Angels of Porziuncola, LA is the
largest city in California and the second largest in the US.
In 1821 it became part of Mexico
after becoming independent from Spain, and joined the US in 1848
as part of a treaty at the end of the Mexican-American war.
Los Angeles is a leading city
